  Our story

  1. In the month of December, 1999 Pastor Rick Brzezicki, his wife Carol, along with their three children Tania, Erin, and Matthew, heard the call of God to plant a church.  On February 6, 2000 nine people joined the Brzezicki family, for a total of 13, at John Barnett School on the north side of Edmonton. These humble beginnings started off as Living Hope Bible Fellowship, now known as River City Christian Church (RCCC) of Edmonton.

  2. The first few years saw growth.  We moved our meetings from John Barnett School, to the basement of the Brzezicki home, then a retail space on Fort Road, and then on to Bellevue Community Hall. Recently River City Christian Church has experienced growth again in our spacious facility near Rexall Place, 12011 – 76 Street in Edmonton.

  3. The vision of the church has always involved bringing the Good News to those who are spiritually, mentally, or physically poor, to the brokenhearted, captives, prisoners and those in mourning. The Good News is that Jesus Christ has given us victory over all these circumstances as stated in Isaiah 61 and Luke 4:17-24. The Church is to be a place where healing can take place for all, regardless of ethnic origins, and all can take from the life-flowing River of God.  (Revelation 22:1-5)

  4. A little more history:  River City Christian Church has run healing, cultural consideration, and spiritual gift conferences, as well as a School of Ministry.  RCCC raised funds to drill a bore hole for drinking water in a remote village in Zimbabwe, Africa and has established a relationship with One-ness Ministries, a church in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

  5. Currently RCCC is involved in impacting the community by various programs such as participating in Wecan Food Baskets.  Loving our neighbours is part of our mandate... it is what Jesus wants us to do!

  6. It’ amazing what God can do when His people live in unity and love! You are invited to join us for dynamic worship on Sunday mornings at 10:30 am.  We’d love to meet you and explore what God has in store for us together.
